Kotpad Tussar from Koraput, Odisha, is a distinctive tribal weave crafted by the Mirgan community using age-old handloom traditions. Naturally dyed with roots of the aal tree, the fabric glows in rich earthy tones of maroon, brown, and rust against an unbleached base. Woven on pit looms, it features symbolic tribal motifs like fish, birds, and trees—each narrating stories of nature and everyday tribal life. With its organic texture and soulful craftsmanship, Kotpad Tussar beautifully blends tradition, sustainability, and timeless artistry.
