Himroo Silk ~
Once favoured by Mughal royalty, this revival weave from Aurangabad, Maharashtra, takes its name from the Persian Hum-Roo meaning “like silk,” celebrating its velvety sheen and regal elegance. Its motifs draw from Persian art and historic architecture, from minarets to blooming gardens, each pattern reflecting a rich cultural fusion preserved through generations.

Today, talented artisans are reviving this heritage craft with devotion, safeguarding techniques that were once on the brink of fading away.
