Historically, the Banjaras migrated from Rajasthan to South India with the Mughal army in the 16th century, eventually settling in the Bijapur district of Karnataka.
Lambani women have a rich tradition of creating intricate embroidered textiles from leftover scraps—pulling threads from old saris, stitching patchwork by hand, and adorning them with embroidery, mirrors, cowrie shells, beads, and coins.
